About us & why we chose Lochside 

We’re your hosts, Simone and Graham, and in 2024 we found a place that completely captured our hearts... Lochside
 

We had been looking for somewhere that would fit the life we love: a peaceful place where we could work from home, spend time outdoors, and have plenty of space for our horses. We share Lochside with four horses, four rescue dogs, and three cats, so finding somewhere that could truly become home was incredibly important to us.
 

Then we discovered Lochside.

We fell in love with it from the moment we arrived. The views are simply breathtaking, the surrounding countryside is beautiful, and although we’re wonderfully rural, we’re only around a mile from everything we need. It felt like the perfect balance  a peaceful escape surrounded by nature, without feeling cut off from the local community.
 

The farmhouse itself dates back to 1805, and we love the character, history and stories that come with a place that has been part of the landscape for generations. We already had our shepherds’ huts, and Lochside gave us the opportunity to create something really special here, alongside the beautiful existing cottages.
